Hi Avon Lake H.S. Swim Team,

Wishing you the fastest swimming you've ever done this year and lots of fun.
High school swimming is the most spirited of any level of swimming, and the friendships last a lifetime.  You're building something really special right now, so be the best person and athlete you can be. When the workload gets to be tough, remember that it is making you stronger.
Good luck and know I am cheering for you!

Avon Lake High Swim Team-
Good luck this season. I wish you the best! Don't ever be afraid of hard work, because success in swimming definitely requires it. If You can embrace the pain of training, you will relish in the joy of victory! Go get'em, I'll be cheering for you!
Best,

Avon Lake High Swim and Dive Team,

  • I'd like to share some advice for all of you ~In swimming I know it's super hard getting up early going to school then strength training/ practice then homework and then next practice, eat well then bed. One of the best things I can think of, is to become a close knit team- It's so Vital to know you are an important part of the team, stay close. If you can, do some team activities, because a close knit team makes it easier to go to practice when it gets tough. This way each of you know you can hold each other responsible to going to practice and working hard, because everybody is in the same boat going through the same things!! But those days when you're body is dead and you don't feel like swimming... You really need to be able to FOCUS on one thing to concentrate and work on that practice... For instance if  times are slow in practice that day, but you're giving it your all and getting frustrated, focus your mind and work on one thing like streamlines, turns or something technique related! (that is where the difference can be made in close races!)-The outcome in the end is always worth it. Especially, always remember it's the journey that matters... When you look back on HS you won't remember not making a set or breathing hard or red faces but You'll definitely remember the times the team had together and the victories at the end!!

  • I hope this helps! ... & Let me know how it goes !

    Best of luck!

    Hey Avon Lake Swimmers-
Throughout my swimming carreer, I have tried to embody the warrior swimmer spirit and I have been a huge advocate of the "blue collar" swimmer. This is the type of athlete that comes home from workout dead and sore, and is unafraid to get back up the next day to do it all over again. Also, I have a psychotic hatred for losing. I will do whatever is in my power to make sure I get my hand on the wall first. These two things in tandem create the opportunity for your potential to be fully released.

Do your best Team -never give up & good Luck!
